Kathryn McCabe
Kathryn McCabe has more than 20 years of experience with mentoring and tutoring programs as an executive director, board member and volunteer. She was the executive director at Cluster Tutoring on the far west side of Chicago for 15 years. There she worked with board members and community partners to more than triple the program’s enrollment, implement a comprehensive structured reading project, and add college access programming for high school students.

Prior to coming to Cluster, Kathryn was a volunteer with the tutoring program at the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, which is one of the largest programs of its kind in the country. She also chaired that program’s volunteer board for 10 years.

In addition to her work with mentoring and tutoring, Kathryn has extensive experience as a writer, having been a freelance journalist and magazine editor previously. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Butler University and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.
