Our Mission

Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth (LLAH) is a 501(c)3 organization that empowers Chicago youth to achieve academic excellence through individualized tutoring and mentorship.

LLAH's primary initiative is Lend-A-Hand Tutoring at the CBA, which provides free one-to-one tutoring and mentoring to students from Chicago public schools. Tutoring takes place on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. during the school year at the Chicago Bar Association, 321 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL. The program has a focus on literacy and transports the students to tutoring by bus.

For the past four years we offered online tutoring due to the pandemic, providing the technology to do so for those who needed it. While we returned to face-to-face tutoring for the fall semester of 2022, we continue online tutoring for those who need or prefer it.
